ReplyDeletethanks, as always, for sharing your wonderful patterns! your thoughtfulness is so appreciated!
These are lovely!! I'm involved in a fingerless mittens swap on Ravelry and I think these would be perfect! Thank you for sharing your pattern!
ReplyDeleteYou are both very welcome!
ReplyDeleteVery cute...what a fun piece!
ReplyDeleteThese are adorable, thank you ever so much for sharing your wonderful talent with us. Where would I find the Butterfly hat mentioned in a previous comment? I would love to have a matching set. :>)
ReplyDeleteYou are very welcome. He is the link the the hat. It's made for a child, but very easily adjustable! http://vallieskids.blogspot.com/2009/06/olivias-butterfly.html
ReplyDeleteHave fun!
These are gorgeous! I happened to finish your baby snuggle sack today and decided to start on fingerless gloves for my teen niece's birthday. I looked through dozens of them and these were exactly what I wanted. It dawned on me after I started that I was reading the pattern from the same website I've been looking at for days. I guess that's a sign that I need to look at your other patterns as well.
ReplyDeleteYour butterfly is so simple and such a pretty embellishment! Thanks for sharing your patterns!
You are very welcome! I'm glad you are enjoying them.
ReplyDeleteI found your blog from crochetpatterncentral while I was looking for hats... But these are the most adorable things I have seen for an adult in forever! You designed this pattern, right? It's fantastic!!
ReplyDeleteI must admit that I literally stopped right as soon as I came across them and crocheted me up a pair! (I mean, I had some awesome yarn and just the right size hook pulled out- I couldn't resist! I'll have to hunt my boys up some more yarn for their hats since I used theirs!!)
Great Job. Fantastic pattern!
I love the design - truly butterflies!

I figured out the modifications I needed and have since made dozens of these over the years. I also modified the pattern to make a child size. It always gets lots of compliments.

I'm on my 6th pair of these - they are very fast and easy to make up. (though the above poster is correct, the left and right are transposed)
ReplyDeleteThey fit my large hands just fine; I have even made a variation with a longer top and partial thumb to cover my knuckles (with my tendonitis they are functional as well as cute). My pics are on my Facebook page: Facebook.com/DavetteBInAK
My son wants a pair without the butterflies in navy, and I'm going to make a pair for a friend getting married in White.
thanks for the great pattern

Can you please put this on Youtube so I can follow better, I am dying to make them, but reading it is a little confusing. Thanks

I'm making a pair of these for my 13 year old granddaughter-- just finishing the second one. I'm using a dk green cotton yarn(Love This Cotton) & they look great but the yarn isn't as springy as acrylic. I've tried to tighten the wrist just a tad, add 2 rows to the top & snug them up a bit. My count has been off of what I've read, but I've tried to be consistent & the two look good! Think I've got it! Thank you so much for posting this pattern--darling!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the pattern! I had some left over yarn from a scarf I made so I made these in two tone...it took a little more time but well worth it :) I think I may even embellish them a little more ~ we'll see.
ReplyDeleteThanks again,
Lori
I have made these gloves in many different colors they are always a sure knock out. Thanks for sharing, Dotty.
ReplyDeleteI think you may have had your left and right mixed up, or I need to turn mine inside out, but I really like the pattern! I'll need to add a few stitches for them to fit me, but the first pair will fit my best friend nicely.
ReplyDeleteI was thinking the same thing, I am about to make the second one, hopefully it fits my right hand. I love this pattern, I am going to make them for the girls t my learning center.

ReplyDeleteFinished my first one and it is really big for my hands and I was making it for granddaughter. How can I size this down?
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!!! I would also like to make these smaller as I have very small hands and wrists. I'm thinking I would just use less stitches for each round. Do you agree or have any suggestions? I would greatly appreciate it!
ReplyDeleteI made these using a D hook and stretchy sock yarn but followed the same pattern and they are perfect for smaller hands! Thanks Vallieskids for the pattern, they are soooo cute!
Deletehave u made a video tuturial for these on youtube ty
ReplyDeleteDo you have any video in this pattern.........?
ReplyDeleteFingerless Gloves
I wanted it longer on over the fingers. I added 3 rows of dc decreasing the same stitches I increased on rows 10 and 11. The final row of dc I dc in every st. I finished off with a final row of sc. Works to make it a little warmer for cold climates.
ReplyDeleteI love this pattern and cannot wait to try it! I love butterflies and I think this pattern captures their spirit perfectly!
ReplyDeleteI first found this pattern on a facebook page and, I'm sorry to say, it does not give you credit for the pattern. It was the 1st pattern in the list
