Knock it Out Hat
I used a size 6 needle and
Caron Simply Soft yarn. This hat has a
lot of give to it, I made the same size and it fit my head just nicely and also
down to my 10 year olds head.
With size 6 needles:
Cast on 96 stitches placing
stitch marker to show beginning of round being careful not to twist.
Knit 1, Purl 2 around. Repeat this round for a total of 4 inches.
BRIM: Keeping with a knit 1, purl 2 ribbing: On next round, fold brim
under so your cast on edge meets up with your live stitches, pick up a stitch
from cast on round and knitting it together with live stitch, making sure to
keep a knit stitch lined up with a knit stitch and purl stitches with a purl
stitch. You will be picking up 96 stitches and have a total of 96 stitches at the end of this round.
