I made this up for the Nerd Wars on Ravelry. One of the challenges this month was to make something to go along with a Haiku (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haiku)

This is my project and I needed a pattern from ravelry so I am going to share :)
Hat fits a 21-22 inch head

For this I used Knit Picks Shine Worsted and some other knit picks that I think is discontinued, but any worsted weight will work.

Needles size 8 and 9mm circular and size 9 DPN's

With size 8 cast on 72sts join to knit in the round
Knit 2, purl 1 for about 1 inch
Using contrasting color and size 9 needles, knit 5 rows
switch to main color and knit 7 rows. Knit 5 more rows of contrasting color. Switch to main color and knit until piece measures 6.5 inches.
Decrease rounds
Rnd 1) Knit 7, knit 2 together around.
Rnd 2) Knit even
Rnd3) Knit 6, knit 2 together around
Rnd 4) Knit even
Rnd5) Knit 5, knit 2 together around
Rnd 6) Knit even
Rnd 7) Knit 4, knit 2 together around
Rnd 8) Knit 3, knit 2 together around
Rnd 9) Knit 2, knit 2 together around
Rnd 10) Knit 1, knit 2 together around
Rnd 11) knit 2 together around. Fasten off, weave trough remaining stitches and pull to close, weave in ends.

This is a smaller version of my Olivia's Butterfly. It fits the 18" dolls.

ADVANCED BEGINNER-Intermediate pattern. You can find tutorials for stitches by searching the internet.

Stitches required:
Chain- ch
Single crochet - sc
Double crochet - dc
Long Single crochet.

Materials:
size G hook and worsted weight yarn

Rnd 1) ch3, 11dc in 3rd ch from hook, sl st to top of first dc (11dc)
Rnd 2) ch2,(does not count as first st now and through out) 2dc in same st and in each st around, sl st to top of first dc made. (22dc)

rnd 9) ch1, sc in first st and in next 4sts, ch 5, skip next 5 chains, long sc around chains on rnds 6-8 and into 5th skipped dc on rnd 4, ch 5, skip next chains and sc into next dc, and each remaining dc around. Fasten off and weave in ends.

Cast on 72sts
knit 3, purl 1 for 1 inch
Rnds 1-6) knit
Rnd 7) * knit 4, sl 2sts on cable needle, hold in front, knit next 2sts, knit 2sts from cable needle, repeat from * around
Repeat these last 7 rounds three more times
Knit until entire piece measures 6 inches.
Decrease rounds
1) knit 10, knit 2 together around
2) knit 9, knit 2 together, around
3) knit 8, knit 2 together, around
4) knit 7, knit 2 together, around
5) knit 6, knit 2 together, around
6) knit 5, knit 2 together, around
7) knit 4, knit 2 together, around

Dyeing to Knit

Happy New Year everyone! sorry I have been absent. Lots to do during the holidays

I started myself a new hobby and am loving it. I bought the dye kit that Knit Picks had had for a while. Three skeins of yarn in different weights and fiber plus three colors of powdered dye. I can't seem to find it right now, it might be some thing they discontinued but here is a link to the dye sets they have

I had a blast with it. It wasn't nearly as hard as I thought it was going to be and it's neat to watch and see how the color is going to come out. I only tried one color at first, didn't want to overwhelm myself. But maybe another one tomorrow, we shall see. These are the pics of what I did, using the tutorial Knit Picks has on their site. They have several dying tips, use for kool aid, crock pot dyeing and a few others. Might have to try the crock pot one if I can get my hands on an old pot.

With all the orders and Christmas gifts I have going on I am going to be busy from now probably right down to the 25th of December! Newborn Animal Hat

I have had a lot of requests for these little hats for a few photographers in my area. Decided to write up the pattern as I am making yet another one. Hope you enjoy it.

For one I am using a strand of Caron Simply Soft and a strand of Lion Brand Fun Fur held together as one. For the darker had just one strand of Caron and then for the ears I used the fun furn held together with the Caron and a row of sc added around the bottom of hat. Done with a K hook

Nana

October is almost over, but breast cancer is not. I wanted to make a simple beanie for my Nana, who is now cancer free. Not once, but twice. This woman is an amazing person with a love for God and and her family. She is and inspiration to me. This is for her and all the others who battle with this disease. I just got my package today from Lisa. she sent me the most awesome package!!! I love it all. Posting a few pics for everyone to see. I got the Cute creepy crochet book that I have been eyeballing forever! Cany, of course. A very cute little coffin, with Bubba inside! I like the look of braiding my string, so I fasten off after each flap. Some might want to skip this step and ch however many you want at the end of each flap instead of fastening off.

Attach yarn at back of hat with a sl st, ch 1, sc in same st and in each st around working evenly around each earflap. Fasten off and attach string to each ear flap

Bottoms Up

This hat is worked by doing a simple band and then working your way to the top. Just a little some thing different!~
Very versatile hat, you can change the yarn and hook size very easily.

For this I used an I hook and worsted weight yarn. Red Heart or Vannas Choice or some thing similar work well.

Band:
Row 1) ch5, 1hdc in first st and in each st across. (4hdc)
Row 2) ch1, hdc in first st and in each st across.turn
Row 3) repeat rnd 2 for however length needed to fit around head plus an extra inch and a half (mine was 23 1/2 inches)
(optional color change) ch1, sc across to end of row, 2sc in corner st, working in ends of sc rows, sc evenly across piece. Slip st to form circle 1 1/2 inch from end opposite end of piece.
Rnd 1) ch1, 2hdc in first st, hdc in each of next 2sts, * 2hdc in next st, hdc in each of next 2sts, repeat from * around. sl st to top of first hdc (changing back to main color)
Rnd 2) ch1, hdc around, sl st to close.
Rnd 3-8) Repeat round 2

Patterns

I hope every one is doing well. I have a hold on patterns for a bit for several reasons. One is that I have not had much time to get some out! The other is that there have been a few issues. I have seen several patterns that are looking a lot like mine and I don't want any one to think that I have copied any patterns. I work on them and post them out of the goodness of my heart and want people to enjoy them. I would never copy any ones else's patterns and I would hope that others would do the same for me. I have yet decided if I want to post any more. Maybe if I get a few good ideas and people start looking for me again. Happy Halloween Every one!

Just a quick little knit to take up a rainy afternoon.

Size 8 needles and a worsted weight yarn.

With DPN's cast on 12 sts on each of 4 needles
Knit 2, purl 2 around for 1-2 inches
Knit stockinette stitch for about 3 inches
Decrease rounds:
knit across needle 1 to last 2sts on needle, K2 together, repeat for needle 2,3 and 4
Repeat this around until you have 3sts on each needle. Last round knit 2 sts together around. Fasten off and pull yarn through remaining sts and weave in ends.

Pool Time

Moxie Falls

This is one of the many trips that we have taken. We love to go hiking and my hubby loves his day trips. We try to find a different place to go every so often, but this is one that we love to come back too. It's beautiful and a nice little hike into the woods. It's a rainy day outside today and I am watching the movie Pretty in Pink. And I didn't realize until I was almost done with this hat that I was using pink yarn! Duh.!

I am using Caron Simply Soft and an I hook

Rnd 1) ch32, dc in 3rd ch from hook and in each ch accross, 2dc in last ch, now working on opposite side of chain dc accross in base of ch, dc in same st as starting. sl st to top of first dc
Rnd 2) ch2 (does NOT count as first st now and throughout) Working in back loops throughout hat, dc in back loop of each st around

Holding Happiness

My husband works for Coca Cola and when we go on trips we might grab a 2liter bottle of some thing, be it Coke, Minute Maid or whatever. Some times we reuse the bottle for water. Here is a cozy/carrier to fit that bottle. It's nice to use to carry it or make a longer handle to hang off a rock or a branch and set the bottle in the water if you are near a lake or stream. Keeps it nice and cold.
It stretches to any fit tho so if you are a ...ahh... Pepsi fan...(slaps self on wrist) I guess that would be ok too! :o)

Dread Head

This is a quick headband if you will. I have made several sizes, but the larger ones are my favorite for holding back the hair. I made them light and airy for summer time. Make smaller ones for just a nice little head band or larger ones that hold the hair back a bit more. Go even a little longer and it will hold the hair right up off your neck for a large pony tail. Adding embellishments for an extra little something, like flowers, buttons, ribbons...

I used a K hook and worsted weight yarn.
The beginning uses a bit of measurement. Measure the size of intended head and chain an even number of chains to make the length. join with a sl st to form a circle being careful not to twist.
Rnd 1) ch4 (counts as first dc and ch1)* skip next ch, dc in next ch, ch1, repeat from * around, sl st to 3rd ch of first ch4
Rnd 2) sl st to first ch1 space, ch4,* dc in next ch1 space, ch1, repeat from * around.
Repeat Rnd 2 for desired length. Optional, when at desired lenght ch1, sc in each st around. This is what I have done with the lt. purple one.
The flower I used is just one I found on the net. Lion Brand has some and a few other sites.

Rohirrim Bonnet

I made this bonnet up for a swap that I did on Ravelry in the LOTR (Lord of the Rings) group. The Realm of Rohan and the People of Rohirrim were my inspiration.

I used a G hook and worsted weight yarn. Changing hook size and yarn will change the size of the bonnet. Or you can simply add more chains.

Row 1) Leaving a long ch for seaming, ch 65, dc in 3rd ch from hook and in each ch accross.
Row 2) ch2, (counts as first dc now and through out) dc in next st and in each st accross.
Row 3-11) Repeat row 2. You can add more rows for a wider bonnet.
Row 12) ch2, dc in next st, * skip next st, dc in next st, keeping hook towards front go back and dc in skipped st, (this creats an X like stitch) repeat from * accross to last 2sts, dc in last 2 sts.
Row 13) ch2, * skip next st, dc in next st, keeping hook towards fron dc in skipped st, repeat from * accross to last st, dc in last st.
Row 14) ch1, sc in first st and in each st accross. DO NOT fasten off
Folding bonnet in half use long ch to seam up the base ch, weave in ends
Pick up yarn where you left off and ch1, sc evenly accross bottom of bonnet. Fasten off, weave in ends.
I used a double strand of yarn with a larger hook for ties by chaining about 45-50 ch
and attached to sides of bonnet towards the front.

Flower

Any Way You Want Pouch

This bag is very simple and easy, with so many color combination possibilities.

I used an H hook and Red Heart Super Saver Yarn, but any hook and yarn size would work, it just alters the size of your bag. This is a little bit rough explanation. Beads are optional but add a nice touch.

Make 5 basic granny squares (you can find several styles all over the net) in any size you like, mine were only 3 rnds for this. Use one for the base and then attach one on each side of square ane then sew up sides.
For Top closure
RND 1) attach yarn in any spot of a square and DC evenly around each of 4 square tops, sl st to first dc
RND 2)ch3 (counts as first dc and ch1 space) skip next st,* dc in next st, ch1, skip next st, repeat from * around, sl st to second ch of beginning ch3
RND 3) DC in each st around, st st to first dc, fasten off and weave in ends.

I made two drawstrings of about 70chs long and weaved in and out of RND 2. I also added some beads to each end of drawstring.

A Touch of Winter and Spring Armwarmers

Hi all, it's been a while. But here is a little something I cooked up for my daughters birthday next weekend.

I am using Red Heart worsted weight, and an H hook *I have to add that I am left handed. people have had a few questions on some of the gloves a few times, and if you are right handed yours will just come out opposite of mine. Right for left , left for right hand! :^)

Head Huggers

Someone asked me to make something for them. For all of us that have a ton of hair to put under a hat... This is what I came up with by looking at a few pictures. They are very easy and quick to make.

I used an H hook. The fall colored one is Red Heart Super Saver, the Earth tones is Lilys Sugar and Cream

Rnd 1) ch 62, sl st to first ch to form ring, being careful not to twist, ch3, (counts as first dc and ch1) * skip next ch, dc in next ch, ch1, repeat from * around. sl st to 2nd ch of ch3
Rnd 2) sl st into ch 1 space, ch3, * skip next dc, dc in next ch1 space, ch1, repeat from * around. sl st to 2nd ch of ch3
Repeat rnd 2 for desired length mine was about 8-9 inches.
Next rnd) ch1, Hdc in same st, hdc in each st around. st st to top of first hdc. Repeat this round for 8 more rnds.
Next Rnd) Reverse single crochet around. Fasten off weave in ends

Tie) Chain 65 add beads to each end, weave in first dc round.

Simple Little Striped Shrug

This is just a rough pattern of what I have done for this shrug. I looked and looked for something I liked that wouldn't take a lot of time and to do what was asked of me! My girls know what they like.

This pattern is very easily adjustable. It's mostly a matter of measuring who the finished product is for. I used a size 10 US needle,and a 9 US for the neck ribbing and Bernat Baby Jacquards. My daughter is in a size 10-12, and I knit kind of loose. I didn't do a gauge, sorry about that. I used less than one skein.

I cast on 32sts, and did K2, P2 for 10 rows slipping first st of each row through out shrug, this makes an easier line up for sewing.
K1 row
P1 row for a total length from beginning of 6 inches.(mine was for elbow length so you can add here or make shorter)
On every knit row I did- Slip one, knit front and back of next st (increase made) knit accross to last two sts, increase in next st, knit last st,
Slipping first st, purl next row. Increase as many rows as you want. I added about 12 sts.
I then knit accross however many inches for the back, measuring from sholder blade to shoulder blade. Once I had the right length I then started the decrease rows, slip first st, ssk, knit accross to last three sts, k2tog, knit last st, then purl the purl rows, until you have the starting amount of sts. knit stockinette sts (knit knit rows, purl purl rows) for same amount as beginning side before increasing. I then did the 10 rows of 2x2 ribbing.
Sew up from ribbing what you would like for sleeves depending on how long you make your shrug, since mine is shorter, I only sewed up about maybe 6 inches on each side. You want to make sure you leave enough room for putting on..Measuring is VERY good!
I then used a circular needle 9mm, and picked up stitches around the opening to make a 2x2 ribbing around.
Please feel free to ask any questions. I know this isn't really a clear pattern. I am just giving a rough estimate of what I made.

Blood and Dark Chocolate Beanie

I have a love for the movie Blood and Chocolate..so the name these colors remind me a little of that movie. Still trying to get my hands on a copy of the book!

This hat is a great project to have for winter. I used the Caron Simply Soft Eco, double stranded so it is very soft and warm. One I used a black and red held together throughout for a tweedy look. Possibilities are endless!

Taming the Butterfly

I worked these up over a couple of days. Hopefully I have worked out all the kinks! These are made to fit about a medium womans size hand. Wrist size about 7 inches with a little room for stretching.

I used a G hook and TLC Essentials in medium worsted for the varigated blue version, the lighter set is two strands of baby yarn held together.

We had to take Levi back to his previous owner.. He has an old racing injury and was lame. So we hunted for a new horse! The night we took Levi home we decided on a chance to stop at a place that Judy knows really well and sells horses. She has bought two from him in the past. So showing up unannounced they have no chance of masking anthing that the horse might have. We were in luck. He had a mare that had just come back from a summer camp and was ready for a new home. Meet Seirras Sassy Scotch. She is a registered Quarter Horse with excellent blood lines. Only 8 years old and ready for just about anything. Needless to say I took her home. The guy also said she was in the pasture with his stallion (awesome horse by the way) and might possibly have been bred. Yay, bonus! She is a great little ride, but a bit confused by having a ton of kids pulling on her mouth all summer, but I will get her out of that soon. She just needs a firm hand. I'm so very excited!!!

Update, Finally named her my own name. We are going to call her Lyric

I used an H hook and peaches and cream cotton.

Rnd 2) ch2, * 2dc in st, dc in next 2sts, repeat from * around
Rnd 3) ch2, dc in same st and in next 3sts, skip next 6dc, dc in next 10sts, skip next 6dc, , dc in last 6sts,
Rnd 4) ch2, dc in each st around
Rnd 5) ch2, * 2dc in st, dc in next 3sts, repeat from * around

Rnd 11) ch3, 2 treble crochet in each st around. Fasten off

Sleeves
attach yarn to dc of rnd 3 at top section of sleeve with a sl st, 2hdc in same st as dc before skipped stitches, 2hdc in each of 6 skipped sts and in next st, sl st to dc of same rnd fasten off and weave in ends, repeat for second sleeve.

I used a small lenth of ribbon and wove through the row below the sleeve section just to add a little color.

Diamond Granny Bag

I made this bag almost a year ago, but thought I would share this one too. It's another granny square bag, similar to the Get Your Granny On. Gauge is not important, I think I probably used an H hook or an I hook. You can find granny square patterns all over the net, in many different versions, this is just the original granny square.
This is just a rough explanation of what I did. Hopefully the picture will help you along a little.

I made 4 squares doing 8 rounds each. This is just a matter of preference, make larger or smaller by adjusting your rounds to what you like. I used two for the bottom standing on a corner and attach by either whip stitch or if you prefer single crochet to hold together. Start from one corner down one side and up the second. Then take another square for either side of bag and attach by floding in half by matching two corners together and fitting down the sides of the two bottom squares on each side. For a strap I just made a chain for whatever length, then hdc around adding a few stitches to the corners to make them rounded and then hdc along the back side of chain, and then sc around for round 2. I made mine long enough to be able to go from one shoulder and hang accross my opposite side. Being sure to remember that if you don't line the strap it will have to give to it and stretch some. I attached mine to the corner of the side squares. I did make a lining for this to keep all the little things in place. Please message me if you have any questions. This is going to be the new man in my life. He is coming home on a trial basis, but I am sure we will keep him. The onwe is a little green and he is a little more for her than what she is ready for. Littlest Pet Carrier

This is a small bag made by using the basic solid granny square. I used an H hook and worsted weight yarn. But anything really will do. Gauge is not important. It can be made larger or smaller by changing hook size or by changing the number of rows. You will need to know how to do a front post double crochet-FPDC and a back post double crochet-BPDC

Rnd 3) Repeat Rnd 2
Rnd 4) ch2,* FPDC in next st, BPDC in next st, repeat from * for a total of 15 sts, ch1, skip next st,(button hole made) FPDC in next st, BPDC in next st around to end of rnd, sl st to top of ch2

For a strap I used a P hook and 4 strands of yarn held together and chained about 60 attaching at sides of bag. Add a button of your choice and fill with Little Pet shop pets :o)

Girlie Cape

This is modeled by my 4 year old. It is made for my niece who is about 5. I used a no name yarn, but it's similar to Bernat Baby Coordinates. Knitting needles size 15, using two starnds held together. I used a botton as a closure for the top.

Cast on 40sts
Row 1) knit
Row 2) knit
Row 3) knit 1, *yo twice, knit 1, repeat from * accross, knit last st.
Row 4) knit 1,* drop both yo, knit next st, repeat from * accross,
Row 5) knit
Row 6) knit
Repeat row 3-6 for desired length
I had a total of 13 repeats for mine. This is easily adjusted by adding or subtracting stitches. The button I used was fairly large and fit through one of the holes made by the dropped stitches. I also cut lengths using two strands to make fringe at the bottom where the garter stitch rows are.

I have spent some time in the past week with another love of mine.. We went to a horse rescue with the gilrs to check things out. And then this past weekend we rescued one from a farm that still needs to have more taken away. It's a sad thing to see, but it was nice to see one come home that very much needed it. Sew one side of strap to side of hat just above one side of the visor, sew other end to opposite side of visor using button to tack down. Enjoy.

This is a very simple hat and very quick to make. Using a J hook and worsted weight yarn, I used red heart, and it fits a 20 1/2 inch head very nicely. Very easily adjustible by either adding increase rows or taking away.

This is a very rough pattern, as I didn't write it down as I went.... so please let me know if you have any questions, It's like working a granny square with an extra corner!

Rnd 1, ch5 sl st to form circle, join, ch3, 2dc in circle, * ch2, 3dc, repeat 3 more times, sl st to top of ch 3. (5 ch2 spaces)

Rnd 2) sl st in next st and ch2 sp, ch3, 2dc, ch2,3dc in smae space, * ch1, 3dc,ch2 3dc in next sp, ch1, repeat around.

Rnd 3-5) sl st in next st and next ch2 sp, ch2, 2dc, ch2, 3dc in same sp, *ch1, 3dc in next sp, ch1, 3dc, ch2, 3dc in next sp, repeat around... rows 4 and 5 will increase one more time each in between corners

Using contrasting color, with wrong sides facing, attach yarn in ch two space with sc, sc evenly around through both "stars", along three sides, sc in ch 2 sp... here I also went around the opening with sc. Fasten off.

Leaf... I made two:

One More Granny Square Bag

I have become obsessed with Granny Squares again this week... every once in a while I just need to make some. So here is another bag I made yesterday for you to play around with if you like.

I hook and ww yarn

Hopefull you see the layout well enough in the pictures.

I made three full squares done in 7 rounds, attached them by folding them in half and sewing the sides together matching the points. This makes a triangled gap at the top. Here is wher I made two half granny squares doing only 6 rnds and fitting them in and attaching a button and strap. Very simple, and quick to make up.

Get Your Granny On~ bag

I used a J hook for these

I really wanted to do some granny squares, but really didn't feel like making a blanket, so I made a couple of bags, I like the larger one to use for beach stuff etc....These could be very easily lined with fabric to make a nice bag to hole some of the smaller stuff too.

These are just a few basic granny squares turned on their sides. For the blue and brown bag I used three squares done in 8 rounds. Bottom square foled in half, I pieced together by folding two more in half and attaching two sides making them look like triangles... It's easy to see in the pictures if you need help leave me a comment. I didn't make the strap very long as there is a big gap in this one.

I made straps by making a long chain for what I wanted for length, hdc around both sides and then sc around for the second rnd.

For the Green and yellow bag I used four (only 6 rounds on this one) squares and attached as the larger bag and the fourth one I filled in the triangle in the back and used as a flap. I added two more rows to the top side for it to come down over the front of the bag and attached a button to fit through one of the corners. V Stitch Water Sling

Nice to have when out walking with the strap or just as a cozy without.

Materials: G hook, small amount of ww yarn, needle

V st~ dc,ch1,dc in same st

Rnd 1) ch2, 9hdc in second ch from hook, join

Rnd 2) ch1 (does not count as first st), 2hdc in each st around, join

Rnd 3) ch1, 2hdc in same st, * hdc in next st, 2hdc in next st around, join to back loop of first hdc

Rnd 4) working in back loops this round only, ch2, dc in each st around, join

Rnd 5) ch 2, dc in each st around, join

Rnd 6) ch3, dc in same st,* skip next 2 sts, V stitch in next st around, join to 2nd ch of first ch3
Rnd 7) sl st to ch space of first V stitch, ch 3, dc in same st, V st in each V stitch around.

Rnd 8-12) Repeat rnd 7

Rnd 13) ch1, sc in each st around, fasten off weave in ends

If you want a strap I just chained what I wanted for length, this time it was about 70 chains, 2sc in second ch from hook, sc in each ch accross, 3sc in last ch, work sc accross back side 1sc in same ch as first 2sc, (change color if desired) ch 1, hdc in same st and in each sc accross, 2hdc in very last two sc before working back side,( I just kinda eyeballed it) hdc accross, 2hdc in last 2sc. fasten off weave in ends. Attatch ends a little ways down the side of cozy, I did about an inch and a half, and there you go... Enjoy

These were made to fit me snugly, mostly to have room for stretching since I used the Red Heart super saver

With H hook and main color

Row 1) ch 28, dc in 3rd ch from hook and accross, ch2 turn

Row 2 and 3) dc in each st accross, ch2 turn

Row 4) dc in each st accross, sl st to join. Now working in Rnds

Rnd 5) ch 2 (does not count as first st now and through out) dc in each st around

Rnd 6) Decrease row, ch2 dc in same st, dc in next st, dc next 2 sts together,* dc in next st, dc next 2 sts tog, repeat around

Rnd 7) ch 2, dc in same st, dc in next st,* dc next 2 sts tog, dc in next 3 sts, around

Rnd 8) ch 2, dc in each st around.

Rnd 9) thumb increase, ch 2, 2dc in same st, 2dc in next st, dc in next st and in each st around

Rnd 10 and 11) Repeat row 9

Rnd 12 and 13) ch 2, dc in each st around

Rnd 14) ch 2, dc in same st, dc in next st, ch3, skip next 4sts, dc in next st, and in each st around

Rnd 15) ch2, dc in each st and ch around

Rnd 16 and 17) ch 2, dc in each st around

Rnd 18) change to cc if desired, sc in each st around fasten off

Bottom of gauntlet, using cc sc evenly around.

16oz. Water Bottle Carrier

I used a G hook and Lilys sugar and cream or peaches and cream cotton, it won’t stretch as much, but you can use red heart super saver, it will just stretch a bit.

Rnd 1) ch 2, 10 double crochet in 2nd ch from hook, slip st to first double crochet.
Rnd 2) ch 2 ( this did not count as my first double crochet) 2 double crochet in each st around, sl to first double crochet
Rnd 3) ch 2, double crochet in same st, 2 double crochet in next st, double crochet in next st around, sl st to first dc

Rnd 4) ch1, sc in same st and around in back loop for this row, sl to first sc

Rnd 5) ch 1, sc in same st, ch2 skip next st, sc in next st around.

Rnd 6-14) sl st into ch2 space, ch1, sc in same st, * ch2 sc in next ch2 space, repeat from * around.
Rnd 15) ch1, sc in each sc and ch2 space around,
Rnd 16) ch1, sc around
For a strap, I just made a ch, for however long depending on the person intended for, and then hdc on both sides of ch for a couple of rounds. Happy crocheting

Getting a little bit away from the knitting today, I had my oldest dress up and followed her around the lawn. Here are a few of the shots we did. Even the Cat had to get into the mix. She had lots of fun and I will have to do some with the other two girls. But it started to rain and we had to get done. So more to come later.

Pirate Patch Pattern

I used a G hook and ww yarn

This has not been tested yet, let me know if you find any mistakes, or an easier way.
This took all of maybe 10 min to make.Here is the simple pattern, let me know if this is not clear, I’m not good at writing them up.
Ch 12, hdc in second ch from hook and accross. ch1 turn,
Row 2: Hdc in first st and in each st accross. ch1 turn
Row 3: Hdc dec over first two stitches, hdc accross to last two stitches, hdc dec over last two stitches, ch1 turn
Row 4: and 5 repeat row 3. fasten off.
For the strap I ch about 60 and hdc accross and attached to each side of patch. Weave in ends
This was made for an 8 yr old, but you can easily adjust for the strap. Enjoy
