Whose got the button..?
I am using some Lambs Pride Worsted, but you can use any WW yarn. J hook
I would say this fits a bout a 21-22 inch head.
Rnd 1)ch3, 11dc in 3rd ch from hook, sl st to top of first dc (not beginning ch)
Rnd 2) ch2, 2dc in same st and in each st around, sl st to top of first dc, 22dc
Rnd 3) ch2, 2dc in first st, * dc in next st, 2dc in next st, repeat from * around, dc in last st. sl st to top of first dc, 33dc
Rnd 4) ch2, 2dc in first st, * dc in next 2sts, 2dc in next st, repeat from * around, dc in last 2sts. sl st to top of first dc, 44dc
Rnd 5-12) ch2, dc in same st and in each st around. Sl st to top of first dc.
Rnd 13) ch1, sc in each st around, do NOT join, ch7,turn
Now working in rows
Row 1)skipping first ch, sc in next 6chs, sc to end of row.
Row 2) ch1, sc in fisrt st,* sc in stitch below next sc,(long sc) sc in next st, repeat from * to last 6sts, sc in last 6sts. turn
Row 3) ch1 sc in each sc
Row 4) ch1, sc in next 2sc,* sc in stitch below next sc, sc in next sc, repeat from * to last 7sts, sc in to end.
Row 5) ch1, sc to end
Row 6) ch1, sc in first st, sc in fisrt st,* sc in stitch below next sc,(long sc) sc in next st, repeat from * to last 6sts, sc in last 6sts
Attach button to tab and sew to opposite side of hat.

ReplyDeleteI'm very new to crochet though, and the rounds make sense but i'm a little confused on the rows. is there any way you can explain this to make it clearer? i'm such a novice!!!
you want to make your chain and turn the row to work back and forth. SHould have put that in there. sorry.
